Wood Incognito at SDCC?

As you navigate your way around the floor of the Exhibit Hall at SDCC this year, that guy in the embarrassingly bad Frodo Baggins costume you see buying that overpriced turkey sandwich might just be worn by...Frodo Baggins aka Elijah Wood.

Wood told Collider, “It's weird, in my daily life, I can go anywhere without a problem. But, that's such a concentrated amalgam of those folks, that it's difficult... But, it's really hard 'cause I want to (attend).

"I've been there so many times, and I did walk the floor the first time I went. We were there to promote Rings before it came out, and I did walk the floor and it was radical. I checked out all the toy booths. It was awesome, meeting artists. But, after the first movie came out, it was pretty apparent that I couldn't do that again.

"And I've thought about getting a costume or a mask and walking around that way, but it's a little difficult. A bunch of people do that. I think Simon Pegg does that. I've definitely thought about doing that."

The Walking Dead Obstacle Course coming to Comic-Con 2012

Just when you thought you've planned out all the lines you'll need to stand in at Comic-Con this year, along comes Robert Kirkman and his merry band of undead. The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and Skybound have announced that they will be hosting a zombie obstacle course to commemorate the 100th issue of The Walking Dead graphic novel series. Here’s what Kirkman had to say about the event, hosted in Petco Park:

“Our fans have been reading about it, watching it and now they get to live it with The Walking Dead Escape. We are literally transforming Petco Park into the early days of society’s collapse and San Diego is just the first city to fall.”

Instead of a race, The Walking Dead Escape is set up as an experience with interactive displays and Walking Dead references throughout. After you’ve completed the course, your decisions will determine if you’re infected or not.

According to THR, participants can do one of three things in the obstacle course: “be a survivor and race through a zombie-infested evacuation zone; be a walker who joins the ranks of the undead; or a spectator who watches from the sidelines during an Escape Party.” It’s a tough decision, but I’m sure multiple trips through the course will allow fans to experience the event every which way. The Walking Dead Escape will run throughout Comic-Con on July 12-15. You can guarantee that Myself and Jedi Joe will be there!
